Meaning

What is the meaning of life? Will we ever know what it is? Does one gain meaning over time, or immediately when one is born? These are some questions that can be interpreted in different ways. I think that one finds meaning through experiences, and won’t truly know the meaning of life until the end of one’s life. There is a saying that when you are in a life or death situation, your “…life flashes before your eyes…” I believe that this is when one truly finds the meaning of life. When one is old and wiser than he/she had been in their youth, then they look back upon their life, and take in everything that has happened to them over the years, that has shaped them into the person they are today. They find meaning in what they have done, that they have appreciated doing.
I am not saying that meaning is obtained over an entire lifetime, it could also be obtained through situations where someone, or a loved one is seriously ill, or injured. Then they appreciate everything that person has done, and they have learned from that person through finding that meaning.
I also believe that meaning can only be found by your self, without anybody else’s help. That way when you reach your goal, you can take away your accomplishment, through hopefully happiness, in your intentions to gain that goal.
In my own words: Meaning is what you take away from a situation.

Being the last chapter of this book, meaning makes me question what I will take away from everything that Daniel Pink talked about in A Whole New Mind. Will I use the things that I have learned when applying for a job, that uses just one side of the brain, or will I think about the six senses when I make a life changing decision? I believe that I will remember the things that I have read about in this book when I’m older, as I have interpreted the different meanings from the lessons, Dan Pink talks about.

"But out"
My own alliterations, my own goals.
1. I would like to be caught up with my studies all the time, so I don't have to worry about them, while also having free time.
To add on: I need to use the most of my time, including off hours, and do papers a little bit at a time, so I am not procrastinating.
2. I need to eat healthier: I need to pack a lunch filled with healthy food, instead of indulgences.
I have found that if I make a positive goal for myself then I am more likely to follow that resolution. By setting that goal, I have more of a drive to follow through with it. Goal setting is just like organizing. When one sets a goal they set a day to complete that goal. I hope that I can continue with my goal setting, as it gives me something to work towards. I have found meaning through this goal setting, and what I need to work on.
